The Companions are members of the ICPE Mission whose personal vocation or circumstances place them as salt and leaven at the heart of society, outside an ICPE residential community. These members serve to further the ICPE charism and spirit in society and their parish wherever they live.

| The Companions are linked to an ICPE Mission Centre or ICPE Community House closest to their place of residence, or one of choice, as a concrete way of living in communion with the international ICPE family. |
| The members of the ICPE Mission serve the mission of the Church through active apostolate developed in a number of ways in the world and in the Church. |
| Covenant is offered to Companions who are able to live out and express their covenant in a tangible way by forming an Assembly of Companions in one location where regular interaction and meetings are possible. |
| Non-covenanted Companions are members of the ICPE Mission who live the ICPE charism but have valid reasons for not becoming covenanted members of the GOGICC.
