In August 2009, the ICPE Mission relocated from Allerheiligen in the Black Forest to Mannheim - a bustling, multicultural city in the state of Baden-Wüttemburg. Since then - the ICPE Mission has been establishing this new presence in Germany. Through the Archbishop of Freiburg’s encouragement and generosity, a house was made available to the ICPE Mission in Mannheim.
The three community members are Silvana Abela and Michael and Patricia Papenkordt and their children. Community life consists of times of prayer, ministry, office work, and continuing to form relationships with the people of Mannheim and the surrounding area.

Community members are involved in various activities within different parishes. These activities vary from running faith building courses to helping in a "Sozialer Punkt". The Sozialer Punkt is a place through which people can obtain help in terms of food, clothing and counseling.
The ICPE Mission in Germany is involved in a national youth program, called "Freiwilliges soziales Jahr"- FSJ - (Voluntary Year of Social Service). This formation and employment program is geared towards high school– post college students. Michael is part of the staff in a northern Germany location, where FSJ has a strong Christian orientation.
Michael periodically speaks on the radio on faith issues, answering call-ins and questions. These radio programs are broadcasted nationally.
