The ICPE Mission in Ghana operates out of
Kumasi, the second largest city of the country and the capital
of the Ashanti region, a very important and historical centre
for Ghana. ICPE members together with several collaborators are
involved in a variety of activities that help meet the physical
and spiritual needs of many, all across Ghana. A number of retreats
to various parishes and outstations are conducted, free education
classes are organised for hundreds of children, mobile clinics
offering medical aid are often sent to areas where there is poverty
and deprivation. Throughout the year, seminars with a range of
topics are also organised.
Furthermore, ICPE Ghana runs Mission:/Possible,
a volunteer programme, mobilising people for short and long term
humanitarian projects. These volunteer programmes provide an
opportunity for professionals or individuals skilled in a certain
trade to give part of their time and energy to help others in
need.
Among our initiatives is the Kumasi Hope Centre
for Medical Care, Education and Sustainable Development being
built in Kumasi. This Centre will include a 130-bed Ophthalmologic
Hospital, consulting rooms, a pharmacy department, two theatres,
a laboratory, an X-ray department, and other facilities. For
